Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. Her father and mother were both English. Her family was raised in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She graduated with a BA in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In her time at the school, she performed in a variety of stage productions like King Henry V's princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. Since then, she has made guest appearances on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. Then, she appeared in Elisha on an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie for six episodes in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. She played Bambi as Bambi in The ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe appeared in the comedy How to Lose Friends and to annoy people (2008). The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe first aired in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama program ran in the US on The CW for only two episodes, but it was cancelled. In February of 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe was a regular in the ABC drama series Revenge in two episodes. In May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following an appearance in the first series of the 3rd. In 2014 and 2016, she starred as Tituba on the show Salem. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. The two have collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he was also on the show with Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, comes from an extensive Hamilton family. Four of her older brothers were also in the family including twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because her four athletic brothers all played hockey and baseball as well as both during summer and winter. Ashley did not have the ability to walk but she was able to dance. As she was two and a half, she began Baby Ballet and fell in with. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing when she began Baby Ballet. Ashley was a competitor in tap, jazz and ballet in high divisions. Additionally, she was awarded best soloist awards at all important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
